What Will Your Day Look Like?
The Internal Control Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving a strong internal control environment across Agthia. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, enhances operational efficiency, and safeguards the reliability of financial reporting in accordance with IFRS, COSO principles, and UAE market regulations. The position plays a key role in supporting governance, risk mitigation, and business process optimization across all Agthia entities.
How Will You Make an Impact?
Internal Control Framework Development
- Develop and maintain the Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) framework aligned with COSO principles.
- Ensure that controls are documented, updated, and embedded across key financial and operational processes.
- Support periodic risk assessments and ensure risks are mapped appropriately to controls.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls across business units and support functions.
Control Testing and Monitoring
- Lead the control self-assessment (CSA) program and oversee ongoing monitoring of control effectiveness.
- Coordinate walkthroughs, control design assessments, and operating effectiveness testing with internal audit and external consultants.
- Track and report internal control deficiencies, ensuring timely remediation and closure of gaps.
- Facilitate compliance with regulatory frameworks including ADX, SCA, and other local governance requirements.
- Support ICFR-related audit activities.
Policies and Procedures Management
- Lead development, review, and enhancement of financial and operational policies and procedures.
- Ensure alignment with local laws, Delegation of Authority (DOA), internal controls, and operational best practices.
- Standardize policies across high-risk processes including P2P, O2C, inventory, and payroll.
Stakeholder Training & Communication
- Conduct training sessions to enhance internal control awareness across the organization.
- Communicate risk findings, control gaps, and improvement opportunities to stakeholders.
- Prepare periodic reports on control effectiveness, risk levels, and remediation updates for Head of Internal Controls and senior management.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional qualification preferred: CIA, CISA, CA, ACCA, CMA, or CPA.
Experience
- 7–8 years of experience in internal control, internal audit, or risk management.
- Experience in FMCG or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Big 4 experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in publicly listed environments is an advantage.
Functional Knowledge
- Strong understanding of IFRS, COSO, ICFR frameworks, and risk management methodologies.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and internal control/audit tools.
- Experience with ERP implementation and finance transformation desirable.
Technical Competencies
- Strong knowledge of COSO, ICFR, IFRS.
- Internal control and risk management methodologies.
- Policy and procedure development.
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks (ADX, SCA).
- Certification in finance, internal control, IT, or audit fields.
